A Legacy Born Underwater
Scuba Mau was founded by Mau Torelli, whose connection to the ocean began long before the dive shop existed. Inspired by a family legacy of diving and years of hands-on experience in Cozumel, Mau set out to create something different: a dive center where people feel truly cared for — both above and below the surface.
What started as a small operation has grown into a respected, family-run dive shop known for honesty, safety, and a welcoming atmosphere. For us, scuba diving isn’t about volume — it’s about quality, connection, and unforgettable experiences.
Why Small Groups Matter
At Scuba Mau, we intentionally limit our groups to a maximum of six divers per guide. This allows our instructors to adapt to each diver’s pace, provide personal guidance, and create a relaxed environment — especially important for beginners and nervous divers.
We believe scuba diving should never feel rushed or impersonal. When divers feel calm and supported, they dive better, safer, and with more enjoyment.
Designed for Comfort, Safety, and Small Groups
Our dive boat, TAU, is purpose-built for small-group scuba diving. Equipped with twin engines for redundancy, shaded areas for comfort, and organized deck space, TAU allows for smooth entries, easy exits, and stress-free surface intervals.
This setup ensures faster access to Cozumel’s southern reefs and a safer, more enjoyable day on the water.
